It has been previously reported that the Miami Heat will play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas, and the tentative schedule also has the Heat opening up the regular season at home against the Washington Wizards, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
A tentative copy of the NBA schedule, which is circulating around the league, has the Heat opening the regular season at home against Washington on TNT on Thursday night, Oct. 30. That schedule has the Heat playing its second game of the season at Philadelphia two nights later.
Along with the Heat, the Wizards figure to be in the mix at the top of the Eastern Conference.
The Wizards signed Paul Pierce this off season to give the team a veteran presence that should benefit youngsters John Wall and Brad Beal. They also signed Kris Humphries and DeJaun Blair this summer (and didn’t overpay for Trevor Ariza).
The NBA can technically change the schedule any time before it is officially released, but that isn’t likely to happen.
