Four regular season games. That’s all that remains in what has been a turbulent season for the Miami Heat. Those four games will also end what has been a terrible run of events for the Heat franchise for the past 10-plus months.

The next four games could determine if the Heat make the playoffs or miss them for the first time since the 2007-2008 season, when they won 15 games and drafted Michael Beasley No. 2 overall. The next four games could also decide if the Heat have a draft pick next season.

The worst case scenario for the Heat: finish ninth in the Eastern Conference and post the 11th worst record in the NBA.

This scenario would leave the Heat out of the playoffs as well as outside of a top 10 pick, ensuring they send their 2015 first round draft pick to the Philadelphia 76ers (like they need another one).

The best case scenario for the Heat, in my opinion, would be getting a top 10 pick and adding another potential chip for Pat Riley to build a contender for the 2015-2016 season with.

Having the 10th worst record would give the Heat a 1.1 percent chance of getting the first pick. While it’d be an ideal scenario to draft Jahill Okafor and place him with the big men the Heat already have in place, it’s not a likely outcome the Heat can count on.

With a lottery pick, the Heat would have multiple ways they could use the pick, we’ll examine two of the ways the team can go in today’s post.
