Although the Miami Heat have been busy making plenty of moves regarding guards over the last couple of days, one player’s place this upcoming year has yet to be determined: good old Mario Chalmers.

Recently, the Heat parted ways with both Shabazz Napier and Zoran Dragic, clearing approximately $4 million in cap space (but $11 million overall, via luxury tax). They have also added Josh Richardson, and will likely do the same with Tyler Johnson. With that, the Heat are still about $7 million over the limit. Therefore, it may be in the team’s best interest to get rid of Mario Chalmers…

Chalmers is currently set to make $4.3 million, but would save Miami $16 million including luxury tax.

While the point guard’s future is still up in the air, his past is heavily ingrained into Heat Nation’s memory. So, as we wait on a decision moving forward, let us take a look back.
