The Miami Heat should look to add three-point shooting this summer. Here are some ideas of who is available.

After ranking near the bottom of the league in all three-point shooting statistics, the Miami Heat desperately need to find better outside weapons in this year’s free agency.

Throughout last season, the Heat struggled to find any perimeter weapons. Goran Dragic continued to be less efficient from beyond the arc, and Gerald Green never blossomed into the perfect sixth man off the bench.

Miami ranked 27th in three-point shooting percentage and three-pointers made. In today’s style of basketball built around pace and long-distance shooting, the Heat can not contend with the best if they aren’t capable of spreading the floor.

No one on the Heat excelled from beyond the arc last season, but Dragic was the biggest disappointment. After shooting 40.8 percent on three-point attempts with the Phoenix Suns in 2014, Dragic struggled from beyond the arc this year and only connected at a 31.2 percent clip.

The Heat desperately need to improve their outside game and acquiring a proven shooter in this year’s free agency is a must if this team truly wants to contend atop the Eastern Conference.
