Out with the old, in with the new. That’s Pat Riley’s new motto. After losing the core of last season’s veteran team to free agency, Riley has moved to rebuild the Heat with younger players for the coming year.

In case you’ve missed it, here’s a summary of Heat free agency:

Out: Dwyane Wade, Luol Deng, Joe Johnson, Amar’e Stoudemire, Gerald Green, Dorrell Wright

In: Rodney McGruder, Derrick Williams, Wayne Ellington, James Johnson, Luke Babbitt, Willie Reed

Retained: Hassan Whiteside, Tyler Johnson, Udonis Haslem

How did Riley do? Let’s grade the free agent signings individually, and then give an overall grade. We’ll be grading on a curve because there wasn’t much left to pick from after Wade made his decision.
