Kentucky and North Carolina are loaded with some of the best talent in college basketball. Aside from their clear lottery picks, they should have some guys who the Miami Heat could target later in the NBA Draft. Who should Heat fans be looking at, then, while watching this Elite 8 matchup?

While the likes of Kentucky’s Malik Monk and De’Aaron Fox will be off the board when the Miami Heat select in this summer’s NBA Draft, they have teammates that could be good fits in South Beach. The same could be said for their opponent this weekend, North Carolina. The Tarheels don’t feature a bonafide lottery pick, but they’re deep, and have talent that could be on the Heat’s radar.

That means that other than watching excited March Madness basketball, Heat fans have another reason to tune in. Who knows? Maybe the next Heat player is playing in this game.

The Heat at one point were thought to be a sure lottery team, but after its mid-season turnaround will be picking in the middle of the first round. That means finding a contributor is more of a challenge, but luckily for the Heat this is one of the deepest drafts in last few years. When looking for talent, there may be no better place to look than the Kentucky and North Carolina programs.

As the two are poised for an Elite 8 matchup, how should forward-looking Heat fans be watching the game? What names should they be aware of and looking at with the draft in mind?
