The Miami Heat selected Bam Adebayo with the 14th pick in the 2017 NBA draft. Here is the updated depth chart for the Miami Heat following the pick.

The starting lineup and depth chart will continue to change as the offseason progresses. Free agency begins on July 1st in which the Miami Heat will explore several options. This includes possibly re-signing their own free agents such as Dion Waiters and James Johnson.

Here is the updated depth chart for the Heat, based on who is currently on the roster. This is subject to change with trades and free agency.

Starter: Goran Dragic

Backup: Tyler Johnson

This one is obvious. The 6’3 point guard out of Slovenia will continue to be running the point for the Heat. Although he did not make the all-star team, Dragic played at an all-star level this past season. He put up great numbers averaging 20.3 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.8 rebounds on 47.5% shooting and 40.5% shooting from 3-point range.

His backup is currently Tyler Johnson. Yes, he is a shooting guard, however there is currently no other point guard on the roster at this point. Johnson has shown the ability to handle the ball and has grown to be comfortable in the backup point guard position. Here is Johnson speaking of playing the point guard position:

Per the Sun-Sentinel:

"I feel comfortable doing it.. That’s where a lot of my reps have been the last two years both in practice and in games. So, I’m definitely starting to feel more comfortable out there. Obviously I still have more to learn. But I think I’m taking a lot of stuff in the right direction."
