With the NBA Draft a short time away, all the festivities have begun. With all that comes the analyzing and scrutinizing of prospects, but who has Miami Heat Nation’s attention?

With the NBA Draft getting closer and closer, the prospects are starting to show their stuff at the NBA Combine, other showcases, and via private workouts for teams. With the accumulation of new bits of information surrounding these prospects coming out on a daily basis, teams and their fan bases are starting to make their interests known. Like any other team’s fan base, there are a few prospects that seem to have Miami Heat fans on the edge of their seats.

Bol Bol-Oregon(7’2-235 lbs)

Bol Bol, the son of former NBA player Manute Bol, is a very intriguing prospect. Although he obviously has the size of his father, which projects well to the NBA center position, he actually has quite a few ball skills as well. With a decent shooting touch from outside, a better than average handle for someone his size, and an ability to find open teammates, he could definitely help an NBA team.

The biggest questions about the junior Bol though are his apparent lack of girth or thickness to his frame and his probable proneness to injury. If you take a look at him, the frailness of his frame jumps right out at you. It was documented at the NBA Combine recently by USA Today that Bol disappointed at the draft combine by only weighing in at 208 pounds, a far cry from the 235 he is listed at in his Oregon Duck profile.

It is also worth noting that Bol missed most of last season with a foot injury. If you have followed the NBA for any amount of time you would know that when dealing with guys his size, the lower extremities and especially the feet are often troubled injury areas. It is for these reasons that the belief from this direction would be that although he may be a productive player for someone in the future, the Miami Heat have too drastic of a need in other areas to take a chance on a player with his lack of body and potential injury issues.

Verdict- Pass if I’m the Miami Heat.
