What Happens In Vegas………..

AUTHOR: bennyvargas | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

LeBron James enjoyed a night out on the town in Las Vegas this past weekend.  James was seen living it up along with other NBA players, including New Orleans point guard Chris Paul, Boston forward Glen Davis and Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom.

The group was spotted at Tao, a nightclub/restaurant in the Venetian Hotel. While there James was presented with a cake in the shape of a crown.

The Man With The Midas Touch: How Micky Arison Made The Heat Winners.

AUTHOR: bennyvargas | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Miami Heat were a floundering organization for the better part of their first-seven years in existence.   Then in 1994 after taking over as the managing general partner of the team, Micky Arison set about transforming the organization.
Arison has become known for changing things for the better— First in the cruise line industry with Carnival Corp. and now in the sports world with the Miami Heat.
Arison is listed as Forbes 94th richest man in the world, worth an estimated $6.1 billion.
While he didn’t have to accumulate his wealth from the ground up, [...]

Stay Classy America: Why LeBron Should Be Supported More Than Tiger or Kobe

AUTHOR: bennyvargas | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: None Yet

I read a recent article listing the “Top 10 Favorite Sports Stars in America,” the results of which weren’t exactly astonishing. Not with all the media backlash against LeBron James. Still the more I got to thinking about it the more it actually bothered me.
The list, which was provided by Ethan Skolnick of the Sun Sentinel , showed Tiger Woods and Kobe Bryant locked atop the first spot. Tiger, he of the transgressions and Kobe, of the snitching on team mates to police officers.
What is wrong with people? Seriously is America’s intelligence and [...]

Sick Of Sports Illustrated

AUTHOR: bennyvargas | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Ok we get it you don’t like Miami. You prefer we didn’t land three super stars and make it so the rest of the league has to bow at our feet for the next six years.
At the beginning of July all SI’s writers were doing was down playing Miami’s ability to land Bosh,Wade and James. Then as they saw it was a possibility they started to say it was a bad idea. When it actually  happened they criticized LeBron’s “Decision”, basically insinuating he quit on Cleveland and tarnished his legacy.  After Bosh,Wade and James did the SI cover shoot they [...]

You have to admit it would be funny if they did an NWO themed pre-game introduction.

Raptors GM Rips Chris Bosh

AUTHOR: bennyvargas | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well all the critics continue to come out of the woodwork . The latest being Bryan Colangelo the Raptors GM  who insinuated that Bosh quit on Toronto last season during a play off run.
Colangelo stated that “despite limited swelling and any excessive damage on an MRI, (Bosh) felt  like he needed to sit for six more games … I’m not even questioning Chris’ injury. I’m telling you he was cleared to play subject to tolerance on his part, and the tolerance just apparently wasn’t there and he chose not to play. The fact that our season [...]

Shavlik Randolph Signed

AUTHOR: bennyvargas | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: None Yet

Looks like Pat Riley may be content with the roster he has. Instead of opting for flashy names/former all stars the Heat are bringing Shavlik Randolph as one of their 20 camp invitees. Randolph is a University of Duke alum who played part of last year with Miami.
Randolph showed a vastly improved offensive game during Miami’s Summer League games in Las Vegas. Much of this can be credited to the work Randolph has put in since last year with Heat Assistant Coaches Keith Askins and Bob McAdoo

The Old School 3 Kings

AUTHOR: bennyvargas | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: None Yet

Word coming out of Heat camp is that three former NBA All Stars have all stated that they would be interested in signing with Miami.
Those figures of course being Allen Iverson, Shaquille O’Neal and Tracy McGrady.
How hilarious would it be if Pat Riley decided to invite Shaq, AI and T-Mac to training camp. Wouldn’t that just be Riley’s way of flipping off every other team in the league. Just all crazy style.. 2 birds in the air saying what you got… we can even hold another introduction party, albeit a smaller one of course.
Now while definitely past their primes all [...]
