Sweet Revenge For the Cavs

AUTHOR: | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Revenge comes in the form of a victory over the villainous Lebron James Tuesday night, as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated their former teammate’s new squad 102-90. The loss stings the Miami Heat, as they had a golden opportunity to overtake Boston as the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference, giving them home court in a second round matchup that will likely be against the Celtics. Miami trailed the entire game, and essentially received no help outside of James, Dwyane Wade and Mike Bibby.  Chris Bosh, for as good as he has been, was downright pitiful.  Bosh finished the game with [...]

Still Too Early To Tell: Two Wins Against NBA Bottom-Feeders Isn’t Enough Evidence

AUTHOR: | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

A realist would come to the conclusion that these two wins in a row aren’t something to begin crowing about. A Miami fan says to themselves there’s a little bit of hope things are beginning to come together as planned. As my previous article stated, only time will tell whether the realist or the fan is drawing the right conclusions from the evidence. Beating the lowly Wizards on Monday, 105-94, was to be expected. Miami had beaten Washington seven out of their last eight games coming into the contest, and the Heat and Dwyane Wade had used them as their [...]

So, You Want the Good News or the Bad News First, Miami Heat Fans?

AUTHOR: | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: None Yet

The old cliché goes, “So, what do you want first, the good news or the bad news?” I’ll give you the bad news first. The Heat have made it official and announced Mike Miller had surgery yesterday afternoon to repair a broken thumb as well as ligament damage. According to the team he is likely to be out until at least January. This is precisely what everyone seemed to envision when we heard about the freak injury and realized it would require surgery, so it’s not really shocking bad news. However, it does solidify the nature of that bad news. [...]

Kevin Durant and Others to Challenge LeBron James for MVP? Please…Dwyane Wade is His Only Competition For the Award

AUTHOR: | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: None Yet

A hot topic on every sports blog and media outlet ever since LeBron James announced his “Decision” to take his talents to South Beach and form the “Three Kings” on the Miami Heat has been whether or not this move will hurt his chances to claim his third-consecutive NBA Regular Season MVP Award. Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski claims it will, saying he believes LeBron having other superstars around him will hurt his chances. His basic claim is that in Cleveland, LeBron was considered the only superstar there, and that this aided him in MVP voting. He goes on to state [...]

Stop Drinking Haterade: Animosity LeBron James Now Faces Based Mostly on Ignorant Racism

AUTHOR: | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: 6 Comments

Many people have criticized LeBron James regarding his “Decision” to take his talents to South Beach and play for the Miami Heat. Some of those criticisms have some slight validity to them, while the vast majority have been based more on hypocrisy, idiocy, and sheer ignorant hatred and racism than reasoned, logical thinking. Even LeBron and his agents acknowledge the reason for the valid criticisms. Maverick Carter, James’ good friend, and the man who heads his marketing operations, has said, “The execution could have been a little better, and I take some of the blame for that.” When it comes [...]

Miami Heat Melodrama: “South Beach Superteam” Too Much For NBA to Handle?

AUTHOR: | IN: Heat | COMMENTS: 10 Comments

OK, it’s been a few weeks since LeBron James made his “Decision” on national television, effectively (albeit unintentionally) ripping the heart right out of Cleveland Cavaliers fans everywhere, and simultaneously giving every fan of basketball south of the Florida-Georgia state line a reason to feel like a kid at Christmas who’s just woken up to find he got every present he’d ever dreamed of.

The outrage over the “Decision” didn’t just come from Cavaliers fans, either.

There was no dearth of articles being written by those in the mainstream sports media and here on Bleacher Report, as well as thousands of comments posted in response to those articles and on blogs expressing equal parts disdain, anger, bitterness, and envy from fans of the Lakers, Bulls, Knicks, Nets, etc.
