ESPN Top 10 Player list Review
It was released on twitter as a countdown. Here’s a look at the Heat players that cracked the list and where they rank. In very non-surprising news, the Heat have three of the top twenty-five players. An argument could be made for Chris Bosh being ranked higher then number twenty-four, but I am not here to make that today. Instead today, I am going to take a look at ESPN’s top 10 rankings of the players, as well as give you analysis of what I think of the list. Here’s a look at the top 10 with links to their [...]
Dwyane Wade and the Finals
Heat superstar shooting guard, Dwyane Wade has made the NBA Finals twice in his 8-year NBA career now. His first time in the finals, Wade was mighty impressive. Wade won the Finals for the Miami Heat that season and was named the NBA Finals MVP. In 2006, Wade led a group of over-the-hill Heat players to a championship against the Dallas Mavericks. In 2011, after dealing with some injuries and some lackluster rosters, (we’re looking at you Smush Parker), Wade made his return to the promised land, once again, against the Mavericks of Dallas. This time, he made it there [...]

The Chicago Bulls took advantage of its mismatches in taking the first game of this best-of-seven series. Miami gave up too many second chance points, allowing the Bulls 31 second chance points and 19 offensive rebounds. Chicago also out-shot Miami by 19 attempts, putting up 87 shots compared to only 68 for the Heat. This discrepancy is due to the great play on the boards by Chicago’s bigs. Miami will lose this series if they cannot figure out a way to limit these second chance opportunities from Chicago. No team can survive giving that many more attempts to other team. [...]
Celtics Punch Back, Roll Heat in Game 3
The Boston Celtics responded in a big way on Saturday night, with a loud 97-81 victory over the Miami Heat. Kevin Garnett was especially impressive, with 28 points and 18 rebounds. At least for tonight, he looked anything but old. It was to be expected that Boston would come out with every ounce of energy and passion that they had, trailing Miami by 2 games they simply could not afford to lose this game. What was not to be expected was the very poor play from LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Both stars were very inefficient, combining to shoot 30% [...]
Shaq is Back: The Boston Celtics are expected to have O’Neal for Game 3 against the Miami Heat
The Boston Celtics might have just found a spark. Reports indicate that Shaquille O’Neal will be availiable for Saturday’s game against the Miami Heat. The Celtics have been lacking a presence in the paint ever since the loss of Kendrick Perkins. The hope was that Shaq would fill the void left by Perkins, while adding a young prospect in Jeff Green. He has not. Obviously Shaq has not been able to stay healthy this season, but according to reports he will dress this Saturday and that is potentially good news for Boston, who needs all the help it can get at [...]
Some Boston Perspective
All U Can Heat took some time to talk with Brian Cloney, the editor of Hardwood Houdini, a blog covering the Boston Celtics here at the Fansided network. Here is his take on the series. AUCH: How many minutes, if any, can Shaq play? Shaq will not play in the series. We have been teased since February calling for an imminent return, but the return dates seem to come and go. The combination of the Heat’s lack of a legitimate center presence and the emergence of Jermaine O’Neal will keep Shaquille O’Neal on the sidelines for this series AUCH: Does [...]
Asserting Control
Dwyane Wade scored 38 points and Paul Pierce was sent to the locker room midway through the 4th quarter after receiving his second technical foul, as the Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics 99-90, taking an early 1-0 lead in the series. Miami simply was more aggressive from the start, getting to the rim and getting Boston’s stars into foul trouble. It is clear that the Celtics are lacking a center capable of contending shots from two of the game’s premier slashers in Wade and LeBron James. Wade looked like Wade. He was getting everything he wanted, whether beating his [...]
Rolling to Game 3
Game 3 is always pivotal. This Thursday night in Philadelphia the Miami Heat will have an opportunity to take a 3-0 lead in a series that has been the least interesting of the playoffs. Sure game 1 had its moments, but the majority of this series features double-digit leads from the Miami Heat. Joel Anthony has been phenomenal. Enough to the point that ”The Warden” is hearing “MVP” chants when he is at the free throw line. Keep in mind that South Beach has struggled with the “MVP” chant all season with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade at the line, seeming incapable of chanting [...]
The Sports Guy Gets Angry
In an interview on the “Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz” on South Florida’s 790 the Ticket, ESPN’s Bill Simmons got pretty heated when talking about the differences between the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Heat. It starts at the 12 minute mark of the interview. (You have to click on his name to hear the interview.) Simmons argues that nobody in the NBA is playing better than Derrick Rose right now, who is going to be the MVP. The only problem is that Rose really has not been playing better than anyone according to statistics. Yes, Rose has been the [...]
