Willie Cauley-Stein, C, Kentucky
Measures: 6-foot-11, 7-foot-2 wingspan, 244 pounds, 37 inch vertical
Strengths
- Can step in and protect the rim immediately
- Agile and quick
- Runs the floor well
- Competed against top-level competition
Weaknesses
- Limited offensively
- Not a natural shooter
- Likely needs to be paired with a big who can stretch the floor
Pro projection: Best-case scenario, WCS is Tyson Chandler or DeAndre Jordan. He projects as a game changer on defense who excels at diving and finishing in the pick-and-roll. He won’t be the guy a team build around and needs to be surrounded by guys who can get him in position, but he will be a great complementary player, third option on offense and disrupter on defense in the NBA.
