By the time the beginning of October hit, the team was ready for it to be opening night. However, before that could happen, Miami had to go through the motions of preseason.
The Heat not only faced the Hornets first in the regular season, but they were their first preseason opponent as well. Fortunately, things went better for Miami the second time these two teams met up.
Some say preseason is too early for any sort of predictions, but hopefully Dwyane Wade has more moves like this up in sleeve in the year to come.
The same goes for Hassan Whiteside, who had a shaky start to the regular season but has gone hard since.
Aside from just preseason play though, the Heat took part in other activities.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the organization held a Red, White and Pink scrimmage game. Presented by the Miami Cancer Institute, tickets were only $1 with all proceeds benefiting Baptist Health South Florida.
