4. Marvin Williams
Marvin Williams has always been a guy who intrigued me. Even though he hasn’t lived up to his draft position, the league has evolved to make him more valuable now, at 29, than ever. Williams, a 6-foot-9 tweener forward has a career mark of 35.4 percent from three-point range.
This past season with the Charlotte Hornets Williams averaged 11.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and one block in about 29 minutes per game.
The Heat could use a guy like Williams, especially if Luol Deng cashes in elsewhere. Williams can play both the 3 and 4, and has been compared to Warriors forward Harrison Barnes the last couple of years. In Golden State, Barnes and Draymond Green essentially play as interchangeable forwards in the starting lineup. It’s not hard to envision something similar in Miami with Williams and Justise Winslow (who has been compared to Green, and even played center in Miami’s Game 7 loss against the Raptors).
