Goran Dragic: 12 field goal attempts or more

This past season saw Dragic average 14.1 points per game, 5.8 assists per game and 32.8 minutes per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field in 72 games. These are solid numbers, but wouldn’t be what the Heat were expecting after giving up two future first round draft picks and subsequently an $85 million contract to acquire his services. Sharing the backcourt duties with a player of Wade’s caliber was always going to bring with it some adjusting on his part.

There were 44 games, however, when he attempted 12 or more field goal attempts. During these he averaged 17.4 points per game, 6.3 assists per game and 34.1 minutes per game, shooting 49.6 percent from the field.

Most notably, the Heat compiled a 31-13 record during these games, a 70.4 winning percentage. Compared to the overall record of 48-34, or a 58.5 percent winning percentage, it demonstrates the effectiveness Dragic can display when given some freedom.
