What does Russell Westbrook’s extension mean for the Miami Heat?
By Wes Goldberg
4. Steph Curry
Back-to-back MVP. Most prolific three-point shooter ever. Worst shoes, though. Making just over $12 million this season, Curry is the biggest bargain in the NBA. He’s a top-three player who bends a defense just by being on the court. He’s fun to watch, brings a crazy amount of marketability (people show up early to games just to watch him take practice shots) and is due for a major pay upgrade.
He’ll get the most amount of money possible under the CBA. The Warriors will do everything they can to keep him, and I see no reason why he would ever leave Golden State–a team built to win several championships, break records and strike not fear but hopelessness into the hearts of the other 29 teams in the NBA.
Curry to the Heat is a longer shot than Westbrook deciding mid-season that signing an extension was a huge mistake and forcing a trade to Miami. Moving on…
