Pro: Experience and veteran leadership

If everything else fails, Aldridge brings in 11 seasons of quality experience, along with seven postseason appearances.

A relatively young team, Miami’s starting lineup has just nine combined playoff appearances total, and with Bosh virtually done in the NBA and Dwyane Wade expected to opt in with the Bulls, another reliable veteran leader won’t be walking through the AmericanAirlines Arena doors at this point.

While not a stout defender, his length could end up paying dividends for the Heat defensively, and being paired with Hassan Whiteside on the boards could overwhelm any team at any point, especially in the playoffs, where the pace of the game tends to slow down (except when you’re playing against Golden State).

Adding a weapon like Aldridge to a team that was wrecking the NBA over the second half of the season could only open up doors for the franchise and its fans, however, it’s more of a pipe dream at this point than a possibility.
