Jimmy “No middle name” Butler

Jimmy Butler, a former Most Improved Player, an All-Star, a top 2-way player and an All-NBA caliber player is part of the team. In the last three years, Butler’s career was intriguing. He started his career as a bench player, became the main guy in Chicago, got traded to Minnesota, demanded a trade that got him in Philadelphia, and now his fourth team in four years is in Miami.

That’s when the narrative that Butler is a “cancer” in a locker room and is responsible for killing the team chemistry. I don’t believe that will be the case. He fits the culture of Miami as well as anyone could.

Not only that but the Heat have lacked a go-to scorer or a closer in the last couple of years. In the last two seasons, that role belonged to Dwyane Wade, although he wasn’t a go-to scorer that could get you 30.

With Butler in the building, that isn’t the case no more. He has shown what he is a capable whether he is the number one option in Chicago, playing alongside Karl Anthony Towns or sharing the court with Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Ben Simmons.

However, Butler isn’t the whole story when it comes to the team. There is still a number of players that will contribute greatly next season.
