Pat Riley and the Miami Heat and would never trade Bam Adebayo, for anyone. However, if Joel Embiid could be had without doing so, I still don’t think he’d fit.
Here’s the thing, Pat Riley would never trade Bam Adebayo. We went through this recently and that was about Jimmy Butler.
If he wouldn’t have moved him for Jimmy Butler, I can be almost certain that he wouldn’t do it for Joel Embiid. Embiid doesn’t fit the culture like a glove, as Jimmy does and to be quite frank, he isn’t as good a player.
Let’s say this though. Let’s say that, without having to relinquish the rights to a Bam Adebayo, that the Miami Heat could land Joel Embiid.
I still don’t think it would be a good move for the Miami Heat. The best way that this can be explained is by pulling Joel out of the equation.
Keep up with me, but it will all make sense.
We have all heard the rumors about Giannis Antetokounmpo coming to the Miami Heat, right? Ok, continue to follow along.
Why that matters here is because he is theoretically a big man as well. He would fit the Miami Heat, whereas again, Joel would not.
Giannis would fit the Miami Heat because what he does to be his best self or as effective as he is on the floor is actually almost identical to what Bam Adebayo does. Giannis has mastered doing it about two steps further back on the floor than Bam has, from the top of the key inward as opposed to Bam’s from the free-throw line inward, but they operate very similarly.
