Miami Heat All-Star Bam Adebayo is without a doubt better than Daniel Theis.

Before tip-off on Tuesday night, a certain tweet started surfacing throughout Heat Twitter regarding Bam Adebayo’s matchup with Celtics’ big Daniel Theis. It stated that the matchup was simply a wash, in favor of Boston’s undrafted center from Germany.

The source? An anonymous scout when speaking with of The Athletic. Luckily for that scout, the remained anonymous, given the absurdity of the take and the result of Game One.

Adebayo was on the floor in the final seconds and won this Miami Heat team the game with the defensive play of the playoffs. Where was Daniel Theis? Oh, he fouled out with three and a half minutes to go in overtime after attempting to block a circus shot from Goran Dragic.

Miami’s second All-Star not only single-handedly won the game, but made sure his versatile play is reflected on the stat sheet. Adebayo finished with 18 points, nine assists, and six rebounds.

Theis? Well, in addition to fouling out, he failed to score or put work in off the glass. Boston’s starting center finished with four points, three assists, and four rebounds. It may only have been one game, but expect Bam Adebayo to continue besting Daniel Theis going forward.

The Miami Heat and Boston Celtics will continue on with their Eastern Conference Finals series on Thursday, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 pm EST. Coverage will be provided by ESPN.
