The Miami Heat have been holding things together… or keeping them flexible for a long time now in hopes to land Giannis. Will it or won’t it happen now?

The Miami Heat will have definite direction very soon

Back to the part in the very beginning where we said “you had a few other guys out there” and that we would come back to it, we mentioned Jrue Holiday but we could have also mentioned his newest teammate, Giannis Antetokounmpo. See, we told you we would get back to it.

Here’s the thing. With the running thought and belief that the whole situation with signings, acquisitions, and other additions being maintained with the thought of flexibility and maneuverability for Giannis when he became a free agent at the forefront, does this throw the ultimate wrench into those plans?

Pat Riley has to be asking himself that same question, right? I would have loved to have him in Miami, I think, but it’s alright if he doesn’t come as well.

Knowing one way or another would be awesome and refreshing too. If he re-signs a long-term deal in Milwaukee, then the Miami Heat can move freely again without him in mind.

The ultimate goal was to land him, but if he isn’t coming, then he isn’t coming and they must still try to win. Again, we will know more sooner than later what his plans are and this move all but guarantees it.

If he doesn’t re-sign before the deadline in December though, we continue to play this game of cat and mouse. Buckle up.

The Miami Heat are surely paying attention and they need to act on it to keep up. This was a power play by Milwaukee and only time will tell if it worked.

It won’t take that long to see it though. That’s a pretty safe bet.
