The Miami Heat depend on Jimmy Butler for a lot. He’ll have to give the very most, once again, next season but he probably wouldn’t have it any different.

The Miami Heat will need an epic season from Jimmy Butler next year to, once again, compete for the title. They’ll need an award-worthy season.

Be Top-5 For NBA’s Defensive Player Of The Year Award & MVP

Always in the conversation for the NBA’s Defensive Player Of The Year award, he finished there again this season. Hovering in the top-10 for most of the year, he wouldn’t finish any higher than that.

While the real tragedy was thought to be Bam Adebayo‘s robbery, when it came to that award, the fact that that’s as high as the NBA’s steal leader got was, possibly, an even bigger disappointment. Even bigger than that though, he wasn’t even in the top-15 to finish the year when it came to the other major award, the league’s Most Valuable Player.

While the Miami Heat had a down year, overall and though still making the playoffs, anything they ever get done is started and ended through the JiMVP, Jimmy Butler. Literally, he has increased his helper numbers to have another sort of major impact on this team.

His hands are all over any and all of the success that the Miami Heat have had since he’s been there. He should have finished higher than that in the voting this season, for both awards and for what he was able to do on this team, especially.

With that, he’ll have to have an even better season next year to take them further than the first round. That type of team success should come with recognition in both award races though.

In order for the Miami Heat to win a title, he’ll have to finish top-5 in both. They are regular season awards, known, but his impact has to be that great across the season in it’s entirety for them to be clicking at title-worthy levels.

That’s the point. That’s also why that’s his second goal for 2021-22.
