Miami Heat get an All-Star, New Orleans Pelicans restructure around Zion Williamson
If the Miami Heat want to win right now, bringing another All-Star to the city would certainly help. Brandon Ingram is only 23 and would help them a ton.
The Heat’s worst area of play last season was scoring. Adding Ingram to the roster would be able to help with exactly that.
The young forward averaged 23.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists last season. He would be the perfect candidate to be a go-to guy on offense, while also being okay with playing behind Jimmy Butler.
Ingram established himself as an All-Star caliber player with the Pelicans. Now that he’s comfortable in his role, putting him on a team that could effectively utilize his scoring seems like the perfect fit.
As for the Pelicans, there have been internal concerns as to his fit next to Zion Williamson. With Stan Van Gundy being fired, the team could look to restructure.
Tyler Herro would provide some ball-handling if Lonzo Ball decides to leave, and is also a couple of years younger than Ingram. This gives New Orleans more flexibility.
Since Herro is still on his rookie contract, adding players in free agency would be much easier. This would allow them to fully build around Williamson.
The Miami Heat get an All-Star big three, while the Pelicans get more cap flexibility along with a super talented prospect. A win-win for both sides.
