In addition to stellar defense, Bam Adebayo could learn the Dream Shake from Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon.
Hakeem Olajuwon is often regarded as one of the most skilled big men of all time. There are plenty of tips Adebayo could pick up from Olajuwon on both ends of the floor.
First and foremost, Olajuwon was quite possibly the best defensive center in the history of the NBA. He averaged 1.7 steals and 3.1 blocks for the entirety of his 18-year career.
Though Adebayo is already an elite defender, there’s always more to learn. Olajuwon could help him with positioning both in the paint and on the perimeter.
On top of that, Olajuwon was great on the offensive end of the floor. His patented “Dream Shake” is legendary and was one of the main reasons he was able to dominate the post in the 80s and 90s.
He won two championships in the 90s and completed one of the greatest NBA seasons of all time during the 1993-94 season. He won MVP, DPOY, a championship, and Finals MVP.
If Adebayo could learn how to perfect the Dream Shake, he would add a dominant post-game to an already versatile offensive game. Bringing this move to the current NBA could take his game to another level.
While Olajuwon was never a great three-point shooter, Adebayo would have plenty to learn in all other areas of the game. Studying a former MVP, DPOY, and champion could help the Miami Heat center take his game to another level.
