Miami Heat NBA Draft: Could Charles Bassey Be The Guy For Them?

To get it out of the way and point back to the volatility of all possible outcomes, Bassey has just as strong a chance to be there when the Miami Heat might look to jump into the mix, as he doesn’t. He, quite literally, could go anywhere from the beginning of the end of the first round to the end of the second round.

In fact, CBS has Bassey projected to go 28th to the Philadelphia 76ers, though ranked as the 39th best prospect. If you look at other notable draft prospect and mock draft sites though, Tankathon has him ranked as the 58th best prospect and mocked at pick 59, while NBADraft.net has him going at the very top of the second round to the New York Knicks, at pick 32.

If he is still on the draft board within a range that the Miami Heat can manage to jump back into the while thing, they should also jump on Bassey. Not only would he immediately offer them some sort of rim protection, with the “some sort” solely in reference to the minutes he’d be allotted early on, but he is also a guy that excels at the things that don’t have to be taught or learned with a system.

That’s apart of another reason, in totality, why he might be a great prospect for Miami. It’s a ton of what it means to have culture.
