CJ McCollum is exactly the type of player the Miami Heat should look to add this offseason. He’s an amazing scorer who can create his own shot.

Before his injury, CJ McCollum was on pace for the best season of his career last year. Regardless, he still averaged 23.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game while shooting 45.8% from the field and 40.2% from deep.

Though Jimmy Butler has shown the ability to take over in the scoring column, the Miami Heat lack a true shot creator. Tyler Herro has shown glimpses, but he isn’t nearly at the level of McCollum.

McCollum is an elite three-point shooter who would add a ton of versatility to Miami’s offense. With how good they already are on the defensive end, he could focus all his efforts on offense.

The Miami Heat were 26th in points scored off of isolation per game. While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, there’s always a need to have good isolation players on the roster.

McCollum finished last season 16th in isolation points per game. He was also one of the most efficient scorers when it came to isolation last year.

He would be the biggest offensive weapon on the Miami Heat. If Damian Lillard either requests a trade or seriously wants to shake things up, Pat Riley should be on the phone about McCollum right away.
