Miami Heat targets to poach from the Suns: Torrey Craig

Torrey Craig was traded from the Bucks to the Suns halfway through the season for cash considerations. In hindsight, he’s worth so much more than they gave up for him.

His hard-nosed defense and three-point shooting proved to be super valuable. He played a big role for the Suns in the playoffs.

Craig was able to play big-time minutes in crunch time for the Suns all playoffs long. He didn’t start a single game, but he made sure his impact was felt.

Last year, Craig averaged 7.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and one assist in 32 games with the Suns. He shot 50.3% from the field and 36.9% from deep in those games.

The Miami Heat don’t have a ton of wing depth. After Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson, there are really no other quality players in the rotation.

KZ Okpala has the potential to be a decent player, but he’s not a reliable option quite yet. Craig would step in and be able to make an immediate impact.

The Suns will likely try to bring him back, and since they believed in him, Craig might want to return to Phoenix, too. However, anyone can be swayed for the right price.

A fair deal for Craig is likely around $3-$8 million. It’s a wide range, but it’s hard to determine what the market for him will be this offseason.

If the Miami Heat can add him to their wing rotation, it would be a massive win. He would fit in great with the current rotation of players.
