The Miami Heat and LeBron James puts an end to the entire era of the Boston Celtics

James scored 10 of the next 14 points to pull ahead by 10 in the first quarter. This feat included an eight-point run by The King in only two minutes.

The run came shortly after the game was tied. He added on another 16 points in the second, helping the Heat to a 55-42 lead at the half.

However, the more impressive feat was his 30 first-half points. He shot 12-of-14 from the field.

It was an absolute clinic, especially considering the grind every other player was facing. James was the only player on the Heat to notch double-digit points.

In fact, he was the only player with more than three made shots on his team. Apart from Rajon Rondo, he was the only player with five made shots on both sides.

Despite the lead, LeBron would need to return in the second half with the same ferocity if the deflated offense of the Miami Heat was going to outlast the Celtics. He did exactly that, adding 11 more points in the third quarter and shooting a scalding 62 percent from the field.

The King finished with 45 points and 15 rebounds, while shooting 73 percent from the field. His overwhelming performance crushed the collective souls of Boston.

His dominance not only killed an entire era of the Celtics’ franchise, but powered the Miami Heat to their first title under the Big 3. What a way to kick off a series, as this was an excellent blast from the past.
