The Miami Heat need another big to pair with Bam Adebayo, but is Marvin Bagley the one?
He is elite at running the floor and has solid hands. Bagley crashes the offensive glass well and especially on the break.
But, the thing that impresses me the most about Bagley’s game is the moving without the basketball. Time after time while watching his tape, Bagley is really good at creeping behind his defender for an easy dunk or layup.
Miami had a lot issues last year on offense, especially getting a easy bucket. Sometimes, a classic back door is the way to go.
That’s not all to like though about Bagley’s game, as he is a good roller off the pick and roll, while he also has good touch around the rim. This gives him the sheer ability to or increases his potency as a lob-threat.
Bagley has good form to his jump shot, though it could still stand to be improved. With Bagley being a 31 percent three-point shooter, you’d still like to see him let it fly more from deep.
There is also this and of note to mention, it’s something I wish Bam Adebayo would do more often, and that is becoming a one-man fast break. Watching Bagley’s tape there, he has the ability to be that one-man break and what a finisher he is when he gets out after it.
