Top options left for the Miami Heat in free agency: JJ Redick
JJ Redick had a down year last season, but before that, he was a very consistent NBA player. The Miami Heat need people who can score the ball, and Redick can do just that.
Before last year, Redick averaged at least 15 points per game for seven straight seasons. He shot above 40% from deep in five of them.
He had a bad year last season and ended up being traded from the Pelicans to the Mavericks halfway through the year. However, he was dealing with injuries all year and wasn’t exactly used in the right way.
If given a new opportunity with the Heat, Redick could end up being his old self again. If Miami can strike gold and add another scorer, they would be even better.
Redick would also be able to help mentor shooters like Duncan Robinson and Max Strus. He knows what it takes to be an elite shooter in the NBA, and can help them reach their full potential.
The Miami Heat are already stacked on the defensive side of the ball. Lowry, Butler, Tucker, and Adebayo are all elite defenders.
They now need to shift their priorities to the offensive end, and JJ Redick can certainly help in that regard. It is a great option for the Miami Heat to pursue, especially while his value is seemingly at an all-time low.
