Miami Heat FA: Yes… Omer Yurtseven Should Be Given A Standard Contract
The Miami Heat have a great problem on their hands right now. With their young big man, who they don’t actually have under contractual control at the moment, tearing up the summer circuit, they might want to consider making it so that no one else can pluck him from them.
That would take signing him to the big club. Beautifully enough, it wouldn’t just be a stash move though, meaning simply so that others can’t have access.
With what he’s shown so far, his size, and his ability to play from a myriad of different places as a big, he could actually have a meaningful impact during the regular season for the Miami Heat. He can play beside Bam Adebayo, Dewayne Dedmon, any of the other power forwards, or actually as a stand-alone big with his ability to operate in the paint.
There are ideas out there too, as far as how they should go about doing it. Greg Sylvander of Five Reasons Sports actually has a pretty nifty idea… one that should definitely be explored.
So, with that in mind, the decision is actually a clear and easy one at this point. They should give him the standard deal and be done with this two way business… for him, at least.
That, though, along with his play is part of the reason. With him being worthy of said deal anyway, it allows you then to focus in on another player two give the last two-way deal to.
You say “the last” because former Kansas Jayhawk and defensive mastermind, Marcus Garrett, is making as strong a case as it is to be made already for first one. That is another story though.
In any situation, get it done Miami Heat! They probably will too, because based on the way he’s playing, he deserves the standard NBA deal and if they don’t give it to him, someone will.
