Miami Heat expectation for PJ Tucker: 37% from deep

PJ Tucker will play a similar role as Markieff Morris, except with higher expectations. He will likely be inserted into the starting lineup and will have to play his role to perfection.

Ideally, Tucker can be someone that will guard that opposing team’s best player. His defense is by far his best skill at this point in his career.

That being said, the Miami Heat also need his help on the offensive end. He has shown the ability to shoot well from deep in the past, and they need him to step up and do that again.

He shot 39.4% from deep with the Bucks last season but was only with them for 20 regular-season games. The last time he shot 37% or better from deep for an entire season was in 2018-19.

That isn’t too long ago, so Tucker should be eyeing that number as a benchmark for this year. If he doesn’t shoot well from deep, he might end up losing his starting job.

Tucker is known as one of the best three-point shooters from the corner in the NBA. Miami needs him to be that for them this year.

His shooting is going to be crucial for Miami’s offense, so expecting him to shoot at least league average from range is fair. Hopefully, Tucker can deliver on this expectation.
