While Miami Heat fans have been on a rollercoaster the past two seasons with Tyler Herro, it’s bee alright. From Bubble Herro providing the Heat with a spark to the NBA finals, to “let’s trade him away to OKC for some picks”.

Although it may seem like Tyler Herro had a down year, he improved in almost every statistical category. Herro will be a pivotal piece for the Miami Heat this year and should have a big impact on how deep the Heat will make it into the NBA Playoffs.

Hear me out here, firstly. Secondly though, let’s take a closer look.

Rookie year 2020 – 55 games, 27.4 minutes per game, 42.8% field goal percentage, 46.2 % 2 point percentage, 38.9% 3 point percentage, 87% from the charity stripe, 4 rebounds, 2 assist, and 13.5 points per game.

Sophomore year 2021 – 55 games, 30.3 minutes per game, 43.9% field goal percentage, 49.8 % 2 point percentage, 36% 3 point percentage, 80% from the charity stripe, 5 rebounds, 3.4 assist,s and 15.1 points per game.

Now that we have some numbers on the board though, let’s see what they eyes have to say.

Miami Heat: 3 Bold Predictions for Tyler Herro – A Near 20 Points Per Player

His usage also was up from 22.2 percent in 2020 to 23.5 percent in 2021. The only areas in which Tyler Herro did not improve on are 3-point percentage and free throw percentage.

I expect him to bounce back and improve on those numbers this year.

18+ Points Per Game Scorer

The first bold prediction for Tyler Herro this year, is that he will be an 18 points per game player. After averaging 13.5 points per in his rookie season, Herro followed it up in his sophomore campaign with 15.1 per game.

I believe he will follow it up this year by improving his point per game number yet again. Miami has, arguably, the best starting five in the Eastern Conference and NBA.

The addition of Kyle Lowry makes any case for the Heat to return to the NBA Finals stronger. The weakness I see for now is the lack of scoring off the bench.

Between, Herro, Markieff Morris, Max Strus, Dewayne Dedmon, and KZ Okpala, Herro will need to be the leader and the go-to scorer for the 2nd unit. I believe Herro will take the necessary jump to provide the Heat with a strong scorer of the bench.

Miami Heat: 3 Bold Predictions for Tyler Herro – Top Deep Shooter & 6th Man

My second bold prediction for Tyler Herro this year is that Herro will be in the Top 15 in 3-pointers made this season.

Top 3-Ball Shooter

This goes hand in hand with my previous bold prediction and will go hand in hand with my next bold prediction. Herro is a scorer and his ability to score from everywhere on the court will be valuable to the Heat this season.

Herro missed 18 games last season due to injury and managed to knock down 107 three-pointers, good for 2 per game. The Heat, aside from Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro, no longer have players who shot over 35% from downtown.

This is where I think Herro will make an adjustment and start letting them fly from three. I am expecting Herro to reach 180-200 three-pointers made this upcoming season.

6th Man Of The Year

My third and final bold prediction for Tyler Herro this year is that Herro will be a 6th Man Of The Year finalist. Tyler Herro should be in the running for the 6th Man, as he should be the first heat player off the bench and should be an explosive scorer to help lead the bench.

As stated in the previous prediction, Herro can score from everywhere on the floor. With his ability to score, attack, and pass out of the pick and roll, I expect Spoelstra to use Herro aggressively off the pick and roll, ball-handoffs, and ball screens to maximize his shooting and play-making ability.

I also expect the Heat to manage Kyle Lowry and his minutes this season to make sure he is ready for their playoff run, which means we will likely see Herro play 30-plus minutes per game again this season. Plus, with the addition of his first child, I think will motivate Herro to play at a higher level.

Hopefully, it does, as the Miami Heat need all that he can muster up to give them. These though, have been his three bold predictions for the coming season and how I think he’ll get it done.
