The Miami Heat made changes to their roster this offseason, fortifying what was already a pretty solid core. By adding guys with championship experience, like Kyle Lowry and P.J. Tucker specifically, they made sure that they will have a great opportunity to maximize whatever the final roster would be that they could assemble.

Just as key as those players that they brought in from elsewhere though, were and are those players of their own that they had to retain. While names like Duncan Robinson, Victor Oladipo, and perhaps even Tyler Herro, with all the trade speculation surrounding him, are the ones that got the most attention, they kept other important guys too.

One of them is Max Strus. The shooter, although one with a pretty versatile skill set, lit the NBA Summer Circuit up, making a name for himself amongst NBA circles where he hadn’t already pierced their radars.

With that though, what will his role look like with the regular team in the regular season? Will he be able to mimic his performances or at least, something relatively similar?

Perhaps and here is how. If he can fulfill these three bold predictions, he’ll be well on his way to crushing it this season.

Miami Heat: 3 Bold Predictions For Max Strus – Volume & Accuracy From 3

The Miami Heat have relied a ton on the outside shot from range over the last few seasons. That shouldn’t change a ton in the coming season and Max Strus should be a huge part of it.

Will Shoot 40 Percent On Over 8 Attempts From Range

This may seem like a bit of a stretch, but it shouldn’t be. In fact, the only reason it might seem like a stretch is because of the opportunities that might be afforded to him, but that’ll be covered later.

As far as the raw numbers, if he gets the looks, he can hit 40 percent of them or better. He also has the endurance to take them if they are there to be taken.

Again and though just Summer League, he led the Vegas portion in three point attempts per game, at 11.3. He took a whopping 17.3 shots per game, where again, nearly two-thirds of them were from range.

For the final time, it will only come down to actual opportunities for him, but here’s why that shouldn’t be an issue.

Miami Heat: 3 Bold Predictions For Max Strus – Top Bench Guy & Becoming Elite?

If he can get the looks, he can make good on them. Here’s why all of that should work out for Max Strus.

Top-3 Bench Player

When you look at the Miami Heat’s bench, they have some really talented guys. However, few of them offer the total versatility that Max offers and with such premium ability.

That’s why he should be a top-three guy off the pine for them this season. He’ll be that… or higher.

Realistically and even among the big leaguers, he can handle enough, get to the cup, and finish near or around the rim. That’s stuff he does very well, which also leads to his last bold prediction.

Will Jump To Elite Shooter Status Across Season

He’s a click off being an elite shooter though, territory he should cross into this season. If he can continue his trajectory, from a meaningful minutes, what he’s doing with them, and confidence perspective, he’ll definitely be that.

These are all the reasons why he has been pegged here as ripe for a Duncan Robinson-like jump this season. His pockets and bank account will thank him for it, if so.

The Miami Heat will too. These though, were three bold predictions for Max Strus’s year.
