Re-drafting the 2020 NBA Draft: 15. Aleksej Pokusevski, Orlando Magic

Original pick: Cole Anthony

  • Dwayne Bacon
  • Mortiz Wagner
  • Wendell Carter

New Magic 2020 starting lineup

  • RJ Hampton

  • Aleksej Pokusevski
  • Wendell Carter

Losing Cole Anthony is not ideal for the Orlando Magic, especially considering all the injuries they had to their guards. However, they do get a great, raw prospect in Aleksej Pokusevski in this re-draft.

With the number of injuries the Magic dealt with last year, their starting lineup varied from night to night. However, Pokuseveski would slot in nicely as their go-to power forward.

He showed some great potential with the Thunder last season, both in the G-League and in the number. The biggest challenge he will have is becoming a more efficient shooter.

Pokusevski’s efficiency numbers did not look great, but with his size and shooting ability, that shouldn’t be a huge concern. That’s definitely something he can work on as he develops as a player.

Even looking ahead to this season, Pokusevski would have paired nicely next to Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner. Regardless, while the Magic lose out on their original pick, they still get a great prospect in this re-draft.
