The Miami Heat are beginning to turn heads, at this point, in the young season, though it shouldn’t be a shocker as to how good they’ve looked. Well, to some, it seems to be.
When you think about how they’ve began the season though, minus a lackluster effort in a clunker to Indiana, they’ve been one of the better teams in the league. That’s just the truth and if you look around the league at the results, that fact comes through.
With early statement wins, as big of statements that can be made this early in the year, they have put the rest of the NBA World on notice. That includes wins against a lot of people’s preseason favorites, both the Bucks and the Nets.
One dude that always seems to be in the know, Tim Legler of ESPN, made it official.

Here’s the big kicker though and even amongst all of that, there is so much meat left on the bone with this Miami Heat team. What this means, in layman’s terms, is this.
For as good as the Miami Heat have looked, in all but that one game, there is a whole other level that they can go to. While Kyle Lowry‘s offensive struggles to begin the season is one thing, that is only indicative of the larger platform at play here.

Miami Heat: They Have So Much Room For Improvement… It’s Scary
Oh and to be clear, his offensive struggles aren’t completely pure. While he isn’t getting his own offense like we have grown accustomed to seeing, he is making the Miami Heat’s offense, as a whole, run as fluidly and with as much pace as ever.
Back to the greater cause here though and when you think about Kyle Lowry’s three-level ability, the ability to flat-out nail the deep shot is a weapon for him. Over the last couple of seasons and especially two seasons ago, it was the Miami Heat’s most lethal weapon.
Well, they’ve only added shooting, so to speak. They brought in guys that can hit the long ball, while their own guys have come back more comfortable, willing, and confident in that shot too.
Guys like Dewayne Dedmon, Max Strus, Markieff Morris, Tyler Herro, and Gabe Vincent all count there and though Duncan Robinson has struggled out of the gate, he’s always been elite there, so you have enormous faith that he’ll be fine.

Miami Heat: Once They Find The Consistent Range-Shooting… Horror Movie
The point of it all is that when you look at the numbers, they are one of the worst range-shooting teams in the league right now.
They rank 28th in threes made, 26th in threes attempted, and 27th in three-point percentage, all having a ton to with Duncan’s struggles. However, they rank second in twos made and fourth in twos attempted, though at just 16th in percentage.
Either way though, it all says one thing. The Miami Heat can and have been gettin it done inside the arc and especially, in the paint.
They will get their shooting going at some point and that is something you can count on. Once they do, this team and their chances go up that “whole other level”.
That’s why this team has so much room for improvement… that it’s scary. They are one of the best teams in the league, thus far, while being one of the worst teams in the league in an important category, and one in which you just know they’ll, eventually, get better.
