The Miami Heat aren’t in the greatest of places right now, but they aren’t in the worst of places either. Without their two best players, Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler, they have managed to maintain a decent pace.

That, in turn, has allowed them not to fall too far off in the standings until they can get their guys back. Jimmy Butler’s is a suspected shorter remaining absence after having more than a week off after a second fall on his tailbone.

He reaggravated it in a game against Memphis a Monday or so ago. This was after originally falling on it against Chicago in their first matchup.

Bam Adebayo, as heavily reported, is still a month or so away after surgery to repair the UCL in his thumb.

Speaking of the first game against Chicago though and one that they also played without Tyler Herro in tow, that night was made into what it was for the Miami Heat by none other than the man named Gabe Vincent.

He has continued his excellent play too, showing up when the Heat seem to need him the absolute most as of late.

If you take a look at one of their latest victories, over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night, not only did Vincent have a monster overall game but he made a clutch range shot to seal the deal for Miami.

Fast forward to Friday night’s contest against the Orlando Magic, another game without Tyler Herro and as the prior one against Philly had been, Gabe Vincent showed up again.

He had another monster game for the Miami Heat and though he wasn’t alone, with a ton of help from fellow undrafted baller in Max Strus, it spoke volumes as to what it means for the Miami Heat.

This isn’t Vincent’s first time popping out this season with his play, which might not be a coincidence with the next thought in mind.

With quite a few having the belief that they may still be a guard or so short, at the moment, Gabe Vincent has shown that he can step up and be that backup point guard you need him to be.

That includes the desire to bring in a John Wall type or any guard depth with the open roster spot or on the buyout market.

He has also shown you why he was brought here in the first place.

Coming to Miami with a reputation as a shooter, that didn’t quite materialize before this season. He did, however, become a defensive ace, somewhat, across last season.

This season though, he has found his offense again. It has not only helped to solidify the Miami Heat in their greatest time of need but solidify his role with the team as the backup guy at that guard spot.

At least, that’s what one would think. He’s earned it.
