The Miami Heat are coming off a weekend split, dropping a Saturday night affair to the Minnesota Timberwolves, just a night after knocking off the Cleveland Cavaliers. Finding themselves in advantageous situations during both, they were not able to be consistently good across the whole of the Minnesota game, as they were against Cleveland.

While that is the case with the team, as a whole, there was a guy that was not only consistently aggressive in both contests but has been more than he hasn’t for quite some time now. Since a terrible blowout to the Boston Celtics back in January, Bam Adebayo has been a man on a mission.

Without Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry in the lineup for that one, Bam would finish the contest tied for the third-most field goal attempts at 11, the same amount as Caleb Martin. With Martin’s improvement, that isn’t a knock, as much as to say that Bam Adebayo should always be near the top of the list for shots taken, especially without Lowry and Butler in the lineup.

After that game, Bam Adebayo has proceeded to take his game to a new level. He has been the most aggressive that he’s ever been during his tenure in the league.

Miami Heat: A Consistently Aggressive Bam Adebayo A Top 15 Player

While his willingness to take the shots, in general, has been noticeably different since that game, he is actually starting to fully embody that aggression in a different and more specific way across the last few games as well.

Attacking the hoop with a controlled reckless abandon, this is a huge part of the last few steps for Adebayo’s continued development as a player.

Not only do you want him taking all of his looks, but you want him challenging the opposing team’s defense right at the rim with his unique combination of explosiveness, strength, athleticism, and dexterity.

The man is a wrecking ball, that is also a crane, that is also a stick of dynamite, that is also an acrobat. Yes, it’s that serious.

Check this one out if that isn’t convincing enough.

The guy really can’t be stopped when he decides he’s going to do it and especially when he decides he’s going to do it like this, attacking the front of his own hoop for buckets without a care in the world for the defense.

The fact of the matter though is this—this is the way he should be attacking all the time.

Miami Heat: Bam’s A Sure Top Guy His 2-Way Ability And Consistent Aggression

While this piece is coming soon, he has always been more LeBron James than Kevin Garnett. Yes, he has Garnett’s all-around defensive capabilities as a big but LeBron has that too.

However, KG doesn’t share the same multitude of multiple offensive abilities, dexterity, fluid athleticism, and explosion that, both, Bam and Bron have. While neither has The Big Ticket’s nasty mentality on the court, that could be a factor too but yea, it’s just a fun fact here.

The point of it all is this though. When Bam is going this way, doing what he wants to do at the cup and taking advantage of the fear that it puts in the opposing team’s hearts, which then makes it easier and more effective in getting to the other stuff in his game—he can become, downright, unguardable.

When you combine that with his ability to make plays for his teammates, the fact that he can guard anybody on the floor, and the overall impact that he has on his team’s offense and defense with his tools, there can only be one conclusion.

At the peak of his powers and once he can be this consistently aggressive every night, the absolute final frontier for his growth as a player, this guy is a top 15 player in the NBA. That’s without a question.

It seems to be closer than it ever has been and you just can’t wait to see it all come together. This version should be enough to help the Miami Heat secure a title this year, with good fortune and discipline but with this version of Bam and Tyler Herro in the fold beyond this year, the future is as bright as ever too.
