The Miami Heat are heading into an intriguing little stretch for them in the coming days. Though it’s the final little burst at the end of the season as teams get set for the playoffs, there is also the seeding race to think about in it all.
Unlike a lot of other years though, the NBA’s Eastern Conference is the more dominant one in the league right now.
When you think about teams like Boston, Brooklyn, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and the Heat, the latter of the two meeting on Monday night, among the rest of those contending for a spot in the postseason tournament—this is the conference that will be more of a bloodbath.
In order to continue to elevate to the top of this heap, the Miami Heat will have to continue to be themselves.
That includes ball and man movement, Kyle Lowry’s pace, Jimmy Butler‘s brute force, Tyler Herro‘s electric microwave ability off the bench, Bam Adebayo‘s continued burgeoning development, and at least, decent, long-ranged shooting powered by guys like Lowry, Duncan Robinson, Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, and P.J. Tucker.
That’s not all though. There’s more that’ll need to be done.

Miami Heat: Markieff Morris’s Versatile Isolation Ability Another Weapon
They’ll have to stay away from making the fatal mistakes that they have been prone to make for some years now and again, at times, this year. At times, they go stagnant or are unable to get off a quality look at the basket.
It often happens at the most inopportune of times. That also coincides with another issue.
For one reason or another, they have been unable to put certain games away. However, you can also look at these two situations as a chicken or the egg scenario.
Unable to get a bucket to stop the bleeding for themselves, while the opposition continues to pile it on, can be a recipe for said circumstances.
With the return of Markieff Morris though, they now have another guy that can go about getting himself an isolation bucket, almost, at will with time, space, and proper placement on the court. That can serve to help eliminate or limit the main issue here.

You won’t find yourself wanting him to initiate too much of his own isolation offense from beyond the three-point line, although capable in spots, however, you absolutely want him doing so from the midrange on inward.
The above play is the perfect example of why this is the case and exactly the type of player that Markieff Morris is. He has an exquisite blend of size, skill, brute physicality, finesse, and know-how that allows him to be a really good isolation scorer when given the leeway.

Miami Heat: Markieff Morris Could Help Them Out Of A Tough Offensive Pinch
If you look at Markieff Morris, in totality as a physical specimen and player, he is big, strong, able to move the defense to help get to his spots, skilled enough to be able to handle the ball, able to manipulate the opposition with the dribble, and then also more than capable of being able to finish in a myriad of ways once he gets to one of his spots.
Take this one for an example of his multiple offensive game to go along with the self-created midrange mentioned first. This one is one of his first makes for the Miami Heat after he returned to the lineup recently.

The man can flat-out score it when given the green light and the ball. This is something that will, not only, come in handy for the Miami Heat due to the aforementioned bad habits, but especially because it can come easier than some of the other stuff in a lot of scenarios.
There’s also the fact that this type of game plays well in tough physical matchups too. That’s something that should be present throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs.
All of this, though, is why, as they trek through a brutal playoff circuit in the East, Markieff Morris’s versatile isolation ability can be another weapon for them in a pinch. .
