The Miami Heat certainly have things to clean up as they head into their Friday evening matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Losing their last matchup on Wednesday, the first part of a back-to-back set of games between the two, the Miami Heat would turn the ball over 24 times en route to allowing almost 30 Cleveland Cavaliers points off those turnovers.
And though they have been shooting the ball well over the past two games, overall and from range, they would only continue to shoot the ball well overall on Wednesday, shooting only 27 percent from three—but that’s just it.
When it comes to this Miami Heat team and the way that they are built, the way they have gone about it all season, and what their strengths are— if they can just get average shooting from range across the remainder of the season and as the postseason begins, they’ll be a threat to anybody that they may face.

Just ‘Average’ Miami Heat Range Shooting Could Take Them A Long Way
The Miami Heat are built off the back of their defense. And for as ugly as it can get at times, that’s effective for them and can especially be so in a playoff scenario.
With the way that the game slows down, every possession matters, and being able to get a stop when you need one the absolute most matters almost as much as being able to get a bucket when you need one the absolute most.
With the court and opportunities with the rock in your hand, as a team, shrinking in the playoffs, a guy that can get it done efficiently from the midrange to the basket is that much more effective. Yes, that’s basically, Jimmy Butler.
That’s not to mention that he becomes a top-five player once he gets into the playoffs, along with the Miami Heat’s aforementioned stellar defense. If they can put all of that together, along with their newly acquired depth, discipline, and some shooting—things could get very interesting.
But let’s take a look at an example.

Jimmy Butler and More 3s Is All It’ll Take For The Miami Heat To Contend
And to look specifically at an example, you take a team like the Cleveland Cavaliers, a team that excels on the defensive side of the ball.
And considering that had it not been for the Miami Heat’s so very giving 24 turnovers and the nearly 30 points that were spotted to the Cavaliers off of them on Wednesday, the Heat, more than likely, walk out of that one victorious.
Against that Cleveland Cavaliers team, the one that’s probably as close as you’ll get to a playoff team in the regular season based on their team construction and the way they go about winning games, they basically cost themselves the game.
But with examples like that and all else that was mentioned here, along with every other Eastern Conference contender having fallacy, if the Miami Heat can just be average shooting the ball from range, then they certainly can still make some noise on the big stage.
At the very least, it’ll go a long way toward giving them that opportunity.
