Kosta Koufas, C, Memphis Grizzlies

Kosta Koufas, product out of Ohio State, has proven to be well-worth an NBA roster spot.
While he’s certainly still offensively-challenged, Koufas is an elite rim protector, similar to Timofey Mozgov. Adding a player like Koufas would help Miami’s lack luster defense in the paint.
According to NBA.com’s SportVU data, the Heat rank 24th in opposing team field goal percentage at the rim (55.4%).
Via Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report:
"Unlike Mozgov, Koufos has no commitments beyond this season. His contract expires at year’s end, which will make him an unrestricted free agent. And sources told Stein that Koufos’ camp has “made it known to Grizzlies management” that it has not been happy with the scraps of playing time he’s been given."
With no long-term financial commitment, Koufas would serve well as a one-year rental.
