3. Toure Murry (G, Rio Grande Vipers)
In the final two games of last season with the Knicks, a rookie Toure Murry averaged 12.5 points and 3.5 assists in about 25 minutes per game. On the season he averaged just 2.7 points and 1.0 assist in 7.3 minutes per game, but those last two appearances were enough to get teams interested.
Murry, 24, received heavy interest from NBA teams before the season, including the Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors, but ultimately signed with the Utah Jazz.
Since then he was cut and signed with the D-League’s Rio Grande Vipers, where he’s averaging 12.6 points, 4.7 assists and 5.5 assists in 28 minutes per game with splits of 43/21/77.
At 6-5, 200 lbs. he has great size of a combo guard. He has point guard skills but has yet to play the position consistently. Ranked the No. 6 prospect by the D-League, he’s described as a “defensive ball hawk.” He’s not a great shooter, evident by his splits, but is a good slash-and-kick guy.
