5. Luol Deng

No, I am not proposing that the Heat put 6’8 Luol Deng at the 5. If the Heat truly believed Chris Bosh will be healthy by the opening tip off, it might behoove them to move Bosh back to center, and continue to use Deng as a power forward.

After Bosh went down to another blood clot scare, the Heat slid Deng over to the 4, and he did not disappoint. Deng was able to go toe-to-toe with power forwards in the paint, while spreading the floor on offense as a capable three point shooter.

Deng will also be a much cheaper alternative to anybody else on this list, while taking steps towards a more modern up-tempo offense which will simultaneously allow the Heat to put Goran Dragic in the best situation to succeed.
