Hassan Whiteside: Nine field goals attempts or more

Whiteside completed the 2015-16 season averaging 14.2 points per game, 11.8 rebounds per game and 3.7 blocks per game while shooting 60.6 percent from the field and playing 29.1 minutes per game. Though these numbers are impressive for a player in just his second full season in the league, Whiteside was never a featured part of the offense, understandable considering his inexperience. However, one simple benchmark proved how valuable he can be when given the chance.

This past season, Whiteside attempted nine shots in 44 out of his 73 games, returning 17.7 points, 13.3 rebounds and 3.8 blocks on average in those games while shooting 61.3 percent from the field in 31 minutes per game.

These games only accounted for a slight increase in playing time yet a noticeable increase in output. Its can be expected that Whiteside will be a more featured part of the offense this coming season and hence could produce these all-star caliber numbers.
