Game 6 vs Spurs, 2013 NBA Finals
Stat Line: 10 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks, 5-for-12 from the floor
Need I explain myself on this one? This may just be the greatest 10-point performance in basketball history, as humorous as that may sound.
Heading back home down 3-2 to the veteran Spurs, Miami was in a desperate situation. With a loss, the entire narrative of the “Big 3” would change. Some may look at their title a year prior and claim fluke. James would yet again be a “choker”, Wade would be too old and Bosh would once again be labeled as “soft”. Tim Duncan would have six rings, and the Heat would be stuck wondering what could have been.
While 10 points and 11 rebounds are not eye-gouging numbers, the impact plays Bosh made at both the offensive and defensive side of the ball during the fourth quarter and overtime may have saved the Big 3’s legacy. His blocked shots, timely scores and most importantly, his offensive rebound gave the Heat the opportunity to steal a must-win at home, and the game couldn’t have come to a more fitting end.
With under two seconds remaining, the Spurs attempted to inbound to Danny Green, in hopes he’d get a clean look at a three pointer. After jawing for the previous two days, claiming Green “won’t be left open” anymore, Bosh sprinted in that direction and threw the errant shot attempt downward, tossing the basketball in to the stands while raising his arms in triumph.
That, in a nutshell, will be Bosh’s lasting image in Heat lore.
