Josh McRoberts

McRoberts has been a virtual punching bag amongst Heat fans since his arrival in 2014. Due to the large amount of time he has missed through various injuries, the Heat have been unable to benefit from the unique skills McRoberts brings to the table. At 6-foot-10, McRoberts’ passing ability and reading of the game is a unique skill set for a player at his position.

This season has more or less been an extension of his first two seasons in Miami. McRoberts has so far played in just 22 games, making for a total of just 81 games in now his third season with the Heat. He is currently sidelined indefinitely with a stress fracture to his foot, simply adding to a long list of various ailments.

McRoberts has averaged 4.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 17.3 minutes per game. His three-point shooting has been his most impressive trait, converting at a 41.4 percent clip for the season.

McRoberts’ most productive part of the season came in a three game stretch in early December. In 27.1 minutes per game, McRoberts posted 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 48.o percent overall from the field.

In the third year of a four-year contract, the Heat will be hoping for some return on investment when McRoberts returns later this season.
