3. Rashad McCants, 2005

On paper, McCants’ numbers aren’t horrible. In 249 career games, McCants averaged 10.0 points in 20.2 minutes per game. His penultimate season in the NBA, 2007-08, saw McCants average 14.9 points in 26.9 minutes per game, which included hitting at a 40.4 percent clip from behind three.

McCants entered the league with great pedigree. He was a 5-star recruiting coming out of high school, where he was to be recruited by the University of North Carolina. His three-year stint with UNC was capped by winning the National Championship in 2005, team that also included future NBA players Raymond Felton and Sean May.

But at age 24 and just four seasons in the league, McCants has not been seen again in the NBA since. Recently, he made headlines when appearing on “The Herd” with Jason Whitlock, McCants detailed that he felt his NBA career went off the rails due to his relationship with reality TV star, Khloe Kardashian.

As McCants explained in a separate interview with the Charlotte Observer, the perceptions that his relationship with Kardashian meant he wasn’t committed to his craft killed his reputation.

"“Without that situation in play, I’m a $60-70 million player. Easily.”"

Players chosen after McCants in his draft class include Danny Granger, David Lee, Monta Ellis and Marcit Gortat

Most recently, McCants plied his trade in the Dominican Republic.
