The Culture

This week in Heat Culture involves Dwyane Wade, Udonis Haslem and a special moment for fans.

In the home opener against the Hornets, Wade and Haslem addressed the crowd before the game, thanking everyone for supporting the team.

It was a moment that was certainly brief but oh so meaningful, given that this is officially Wade’s #OneLastDance.

It’s safe to say almost everyone was in their feelings at this point.

Then, as anyone could and should expect, Wade was greeted by a standing ovation from the hyped up home crowd, upon entering the game off the bench.

It may have been the first time this season, but it certainly will not be the last.

Wade once said he did not want a Kobe Bryant farewell tour, but in the end, everyone knows he will be getting much more than that. Especially given his brief absence from South Florida.

While Haslem rarely plays anymore and Wade is coming off the bench (at least for now), it is still obvious that they have both helped engrain Heat Culture into the minds of everyone on the team going into this season.

From James Johnson to Derrick Jones Jr., the entire roster is built for Miami Heat Basketball, through and through.

Down 26 points against the Hornets? Of course we are not going to quit. We’re missing shots left and right? Do not worry, because someone is going to get the rebound. Make a mistake? It’s fine, just fix it next time.

This mentality has, at least in pretty large part, defined the Heat and what they are trying to make of the season.
