The Good, Bad and Miami Heat Culture: Consistency lacks in losses
The Culture
This week in Miami Heat Culture, we are going to confront the (arguably) bad news first: Jimmy Butler is not coming to South Florida.
Given the drama of the past few months with Butler and Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau, I was not on the Butler-to-Miami train as of recent, so I am glad it is settled.
The Heat’s last offer including Josh Richardson sure seems like it would have been a better deal, but now Butler switches conferences and joins a Philadelphia 76ers team, that is No. 5 in the East.
How that makes them better or worse, will depend on a lot both on, and off the court.
Looking at the good news though: the Heat officially released the new city Miami Vice Nights jerseys this week, and they are the best in the NBA.
It is not even close.
Plus, they have a court to match. Does it get much better than this?
Thursday, the Heat had a Midnight Madness event to launch the collection and court, with a line wrapping around the arena.
Based on the fact that they still have almost every size in the Dwyane Wade jersey online, it is probably safe to say that they learned from the last Vice launch and have a lot more stock.
Since the launch, I have seen a few #HeatTwitter members suggest that the Heat should switch to Vice colors full-time, and use the red as throwbacks.
Given how much success the Heat have had with the branding and collections compared to other teams, it seems like it is in the realm of possibilities.
Will the Heat have a better week this time around? We are about to find out.
