Small

The small lineup is small in stature, but big everywhere else. Whereas the quick lineup offers just what it says, more quickness, the small lineup offers more matchup problems for the defenders. It could be Kendrick Nunn, Goran Dragic, Jimmy Butler, Justise Winslow, and James Johnson.

When you need a spark or a way to throw the other team out of rhythm, sometimes you get gimmicky or throw some junk into the game as they say. This would not only be a way to get out and run as a team, but it is also a way to simply get the other team out of their wits.

Shooting

This lineup would be built for exactly what it says, shooting. Every member of this lineup is at least a good three-point shooter, ranging from there all the way to elite. This lineup would be Kendrick Nunn, Goran Dragic, Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson,  and Meyers Leonard or Kelly Olynyk.

Each and every one of the guys in the above lineup can shoot it. You even have the luxury of being able to choose which sharpshooting seven-footer you want to throw into the lineup. Choices are nice to have, but have been something that the Miami Heat have lacked for the last few seasons prior to this one.

Big shooting

This lineup serves the same purpose as the shooting lineup, except it supersizes it. It would go with Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, Duncan Robinson, Kelly Olynyk, Meyers Leonard.

Right off the top, you notice that you have 6’6, 6’8, 6’9, 7’0, and 7’1 as the heights of the players in this lineup. While Jimmy can toggle between the two and three and Duncan Robinson can spot up as either the two through the four, Herro is a combo guard capable of handling and orchestrating the offense if need be. The two seven-footers that can stroke it are just the cherry on top of a 14-foot tall sundae.

Next. Goran Dragic would immediately be a sixth man candidate. dark

While these lineups themselves could vary in composition in achieving the same goals, these aren’t all of the possible lineups or themes that can be deployed by the Heat either. This season should not only be an exciting one, but one in which we expect big things from the Miami Heat. It started off pretty good and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
